Access to Fountains Health Building
From Monday 30 March the doors will be closed to the Fountains Health building. This is to reduce the spread of Covid-19 through people coming in who don't absolutely have to.
The Practice is still open.
If you have spoken to a clinician and have been booked in for an appointment, please use the buzzers by the front door to gain entry.
If you have been asked to bring in a sample, please use the buzzers by the front door to gain entry. Empty sample pots are available at the welcome desk on the ground floor. Please put full sample pots in the post box by the front door wherever possible - make sure that the lid is tightly fastened, your details are written on it, and put it in a plastic bag.
If you need to submit a prescription request or hand in a letter please use the post box by the front door.
Lift access to the building will be affected. If you need to use the lift to get from the car park to the building, please use the George Street lift and cross the courtyard for step-free access to the building. We apologise for this access impairment.
We appreciate your patience and co-operation during this time.
All appointments at the Practice can now only be booked after speaking with a Doctor or Nurse.
If you have an upcoming appointment, this will be replaced with a telephone consultation.
If the Doctor or Nurse feels you need to be seen, they will arrange for you to come in.
Important information about the coronavirus (Covid-19)
The NHS in Cheshire and Public Health England (PHE) are well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The NHS has put in place measures to protect patients, our community and NHS staff while ensuring as many services as possible are available to the public.
If you have symptoms associated with coronavirus including a new continuous cough and a high temperature, you are advised to stay at home for 7 days.
Please do not book a GP appointment or attend your GP practice.
If you live with other people, they should stay at home for at least 14 days, to avoid spreading the infection outside the home. After 14 days, anyone you live with who does not have symptoms can return to their normal routine.
But, if anyone in your home gets symptoms, they should stay at home for 7 days from the day their symptoms start. Even if it means they're at home for longer than 14 days. The most up-to-date public guidance is always online at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus
If your symptoms are serious, or get worse, NHS 111 has an online coronavirus service that can tell you if you need further medical help and advise you what to do.
Only call 111 direct if you are advised to do so by the online service or you cannot go online.
Fit Notes & Covid-19
We cannot issue fit notes to cover you for self-isolation. If you have symptoms of coronavirus and have used the 111 coronavirus service (111.nhs.uk/covid-19) OR if you are living with someone with symptoms of coronavirus, you can get an isolation note at: 111.nhs.uk/isolation-note
We strongly suggest that employers use their discretion around the need for medical evidence for a period of absence where an employee is advised to stay at home due to suspected Covid-19, in accordance with the public health advice being issued by the government.
If you are in an at-risk group and are self-isolating then your employer is responsible for putting arrangements in place for home or remote working. Where this is not possible then you may self-certify and your employer may authorise your absence as per government advice.

Access & Parking
Our premises have suitable access for wheelchair users and there is disabled parking available.
Patients can use -2 or -3 level for parking and access the Fountains. There is a reduced rate (currently £1) of patient parking available, on weekdays, for the purpose and duration of your appointment only, up to a maximum of 2 hours. Please ensure that you obtain the ‘green ticket’ from the car park machine clearly labelled as Health Centre Parking. This ticket will be validated at the reception desk after your appointment and you will have 20 minutes to exit the car park.
Do you need a evening or weekend appointment?
The Extended hours service is available to all patients to book a routine appointment outside of practice opening hours.
This includes GP and nurse appointments as well as blood test and physiotherapy assessments.
the service can be found at the 1829 Building at the Countess of Chester Health Park, and other locations around Cheshire.
Appointments are available:
- Monday - Friday from 6.30pm - 9.00pm
- Saturday - Sunday from 9.00am - 6.00pm
